Mike Price our Managing Director has worked in Education Recruitment since 1994 and founded Early Years Recruitment Ltd in March 2003 making it the countries first truly early years specialist recruitment company.
With the basic principles of providing a friendly, honest and professional service the company has grown substantially in a very short time. ‘The recruitment of internal staff is paramount to the success and ability of any company’ says Mike, ‘the people who work with me were employed based on their personality and communications skills as much as their experience or qualifications’. With a superb internal training program, which was developed by Mike, you can be assured that right from the start our consultants appreciate the importance of forging good relationships with clients and candidates. This in turn does make the line of communication much stronger and as Mike will tell you ‘Communication is the key to all things’.
The fact that we interview all candidates face to face and take into consideration their character as well as their qualifications and their experience, makes selecting the right post for them much easier. When receiving a request for staff we take into account the settings many factors, such as the pace and atmosphere, the age range and needs. Adding this to our unique and comprehensive method of recruitment, we find we are always able to provide not just a person but ‘The Right Person’.
It was also an insight of Mikes that sets Early Years Recruitment aside from the crowd, being a truly specialised company we are continually focused on the level of our clients and candidates. We only provide Nursery Nurses, Classroom Assistants, Nursery Assistants and Special Support Assistant to our clients. We don’t provide Teachers to Schools or Nurseries so we remain continually focused unlike most other agencies that dilute the skill necessary to be able to provide the standard of service we do.
Amazing as it may seem we don’t compromise on the recruitment process of our candidates, even though we only supply Nursery Nurse level candidates they would need to fully complete the same checks as a Supply Teacher would. This includes the CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check, which again unlike other agencies, are paid for by Early Years Recruitment. We make the processes of registering as comprehensive as necessary but as easy as possible, though taking nothing for granted and not compromising on procedure.
Recently at Mikes wedding he used several of our Nursery Nurses to set up a crèche to keep the guests children entertained and well cared for throughout the day. In fact, the nursery Mikes own daughter goes to calls upon Early Years Recruitment for their support staff, enforcing what Mikes says to his consultants ‘we will only provide staff that we would be happy supporting and caring for our own children’, which is in itself a true and impressive testament.
